lovely clean room, great view of the fields, amazing continental breakfast selection
The bar closing at 10pm just ruins post-dinner relaxation!!! The room heating should have been sorted before reopening, as it was freezing during our stay!!! No dessert menu and poor restaurant service were disappointing!!!

Surprisingly delightful! Enjoyed the superior quality breakfast and dinner options, especially the steak pie and sirloin steak. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making our stay all the more enjoyable. The clean room had a lovely view of fields. Great base for exploring the area!

We had a good time, but the bar closing early at 10pm was a bummer. The food was great, particularly the cooked brekkie!

We had an enjoyable stay! Julie was incredibly accommodating, even offering a travel cot for our baby. The breakfast was significantly better than our last visit, especially the sausages. the bar's early closing time was a bit of a letdown.

we enjoyed our 1 night stay at highwayman. the superior family room was perfect for us, especially with a king and two single beds. julie at reception was fantastic, providing a travel cot for our baby and being super patient with our 5-year-old. it's a great base for exploring walks in the peaks!

The location was perfectly situated for a quick stop, and the room felt warm and inviting. The modern breakfast options included quality sausages and fresh bread, significantly improving over previous visits. On the downside, the bar closing at 10 PM felt premature, limiting evening relaxation, and I found the dinner menu somewhat smaller than expected. Nevertheless, complimentary Wi-Fi was impressively fast and reliable.

good quality food but early bar hours
The breakfast quality really impressed me. The sausages were from a proper butcher, and the bread was excellent. Dinner options were fewer but the cooking was top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the fish and chips. Staff were attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The bar closing at 10 PM definitely took away from a relaxed evening.

We had a fantastic stay! Julie at reception was a gem, quickly sorting a travel cot for our baby while also giving special attention to our five-year-old. The room setup was perfect with a king and two singles for all of us.
The bar closing at 10 PM was a bit of a buzzkill—you can only eat so much before you need a nightcap! Next time, I’ll have to bring a flask.
